Large Scale Events

I have overseen the organisation of several large scale science events for guiding and scouting.

Cheshire Scouts and Guiding - Chamboree 2014

I was part of the organising the team organising the science zone at Chamboree (Cheshire scouts international jamboree).  This week long event was attended by ~ 5000 people.  We organised a variety of science zones on cheshire show ground.  I developed and led the CSI tent.

Girlguiding Cheshire Forest - Space themed come and camp.

I was part of the team organising this space themed event.  I organised all the science activities from hands on science experiments to team rocket building and races and alien themed activities.

Girlguiding Cheshire Forest - CSI event

We organised a murder, mystery weekends which required the rangers to become CSI to solve the crime.  They checked footprints and fingerprints,  identified unknown white powder and other evidence left at the crime scene.

Girlguiding Merseyside / LJMU STEM day

With  my academic, guiding and STEM ambassador hats on, I organised a STEM day for all sections in March 2020 which was attended by 400 member of Girlguiding Merseyside.  The girls mixed astronomy, with biochemical tests, polar science, geology, pharmacology, sports science, engineering and forensics.  This event was part of british science week and coincided with IDTG.

Unity 2022, Kibblestone camp, Girlguiding Staffordshire

I had the privilige to be invited to Unity 2022.  Iran a rainbow and brownie fun science session for ~ 350 girls at Unity in a day followed by a CSI session and amazing bodies for 600 guides and 100 Rangers. I ran 2 sessions side by side each catering for around 60 participants (~ 4 per station) This event included my new stations which include keyhole surgery, fuming fingerprints, phlebotomy arm and suturing.
